Wide receiver · Jets 1995–2005
An overlooked receiver who earned his place
Chrebet began at the back of a ten-man receiver depth chart after arriving undrafted from Hofstra. He finished with 580 regular-season catches and a place in Jets history. The path made him an easy player to identify with: an overlooked newcomer who kept earning his place. His Ring announcement surprised him in the stands, surrounded by the family and fans who had followed that journey.
The person behind the name
His rise gave fans a familiar kind of hope: a chance earned through work. The relationships around that journey remained part of his Jets story.
Chrebet remembered Leon Hess thanking every player individually when the team’s plane returned from its 1998 AFC Championship Game loss.
Jets years: 1995–2005. The honors above distinguish team recognition from Canton’s whole-career recognition.
