A deep threat who kept finding new purpose
Walker became a deep threat despite being legally blind in one eye and overcoming a serious college knee injury. He led the league in yards per catch as a rookie and spent his whole NFL career with the Jets. After football, he found another source of pride teaching physical education and coaching children. He said his experience with blindness also helped him encourage people facing their own difficulties.
The person behind the name
His speed stretched the field for the Jets. His life after football shows how experience with an obstacle can become encouragement for someone else.
