An anchor whose friendships outlived the game

Mangold became the center of the Jets’ line from his first season and spent his entire career with one club. Alongside D’Brickashaw Ferguson, he helped give playoff teams a dependable foundation. Tributes recalled his humor and the way he made people feel included as clearly as his toughness. After his death in October 2025, those friendships were an essential part of the way the Jets remembered him.
