The block behind the championship touchdown
Boozer’s best-known championship contribution was helping somebody else score. His block helped clear Matt Snell’s path on the Jets’ only touchdown in Super Bowl III. When the two entered the Ring together, their rings carried the name of that play, 19 Straight. He was also a productive runner in his own right, leading the AFL in rushing touchdowns in an injury-shortened 1967 season.
The person behind the name
His work beside Snell shows how a decisive play depends on the teammate clearing its path. The backfield’s shared honor preserved that connection.
