Safety · Jets 2013
A reunion late in a remarkable defensive career
Reed arrived in November 2013 after an earlier stop in Houston that season. Signing with the Jets reunited the safety with Rex Ryan, a familiar coach from Baltimore. Reed played seven games for New York and collected three interceptions before his playing career ended. His brief Jets chapter came after eleven Ravens seasons and their Super Bowl victory.
The person behind the name
His arrival brought a familiar relationship with Rex Ryan into the Jets’ secondary. The short stay produced a final group of interceptions in New York.
On December 8, 2013, Reed intercepted Oakland’s Matt McGloin on a pass intended for Andre Holmes.
Jets years: 2013. The honors above distinguish team recognition from Canton’s whole-career recognition.
